Rosemary and I walked to Broad Street to buy fish (opposite route than going to the sea front). What a richness of fish was in the window and in the display case at the fish monger’s! Rosemary requested three pounds of rock salmon. Watching him fillet them was a thrill, his movements were so quick and so sure. For our expedition we went to lunch at Elham Valley Vineyard, meeting Judy, who had attended college with Rosemary. The afternoon drifted by with glasses of locally made rosé (me) and tea or coffee. I ate dressed crab (taken out of the shell and packed into half a shell) with lots of salad. With a little more than an hour to spare before needing to leave for the Lime Street station, I sought out a few missed pleasures. Steady light rain greeted me. Yesterday, I had recognized that City Hall (seen at a distance on the walking tour) was just down the street. The wrought iron railings were freshly painted black with gold highlights. A group of tourists entered the building, which I hadn’t even considered, because it looked closed. The guard who was keeping people from entering the function rooms was happy enough to let me photograph the lobby. The carvings and gilded features were magnificent. Hello Everyone Have been out and about. We went with our neighbours the other day to Dover,Kevin and Barrie our neighbour took off and started their walk along the white cliffs of Dover ,and Vicki our neighbour and I had a coffee and looked around the area.we met up with guys at a place called St Margarets bay and had lunch and then continued their walk to a place called Deal,we had a great day and getting to know our neighbours. Yesterday Kevin and I drove to Hyeth to go to the Romney,Hythe &Dymchurch Railway it was a lot of fun,it was miniature it was a steam Train ,it had 5 stops ended up at Dungeness which has a nuclear power station,its right on the water. Hi everyone It’s been a few days since I last got in touch,we have been here 1 week,and We have just put our friend Joan on the train for London and then Sheffield,it has been so lovely to catch up and of course it was sad to see her go? We have been to Margate a sea town about 40 mins away,lovely old Town. And another day we went to a place called Sandwich about 1 hour away. Kevin is doing so well with the driving the lanes in Kent are so Narrow,I’m glad we are not using the sports car!!
