Dover, United Kingdom

Our crossing over the English Channel last night was smooth and calm. This morning we see the white cliffs of Dover off the starboard rail as we make ready to disembark. Yesterday the rain, fog and cold we experienced did not dampen the spirit of Paris. We still had a wonderful day on our whirlwind tour of the city. Especially nice was the two and a half hour river cruise we took with lunch and wine included. The boat was completely enclosed which was nice since a rainy cold wind blew most of the afternoon. The rain was very welcome in Paris and Normandy as there has been no precipitation for over two months. All of the fields and farms we passed on the drive to Paris were very brown and dry looking. We understand from talking with our relatives in the southern US that they also are experiencing some very dry, hot weather.
When we get off the boat today we plan on looking around this part of England for a few days and then heading up towards the Cotswalds and the Lake District. If the weather will cooperate we plan on doing lots of walking and get on track to bump up the weight loss. Between the two of us we have lost over 30lbs., but that is still a long way from the target.

Keep up the great work
I know you guys are having a lot of fun . . . you always do! We are back and traveling locally (So.FLA, N.J., Sarasota) to catch up with family & friends. We'll be on 3 cruises the next few months. Carib. (ugh!) w/ family, Venice Italy trans w/Denise, and another Carib w/ family again. We HATE the Carib - we've been there 45 times! but these are with family who do not like to FLY anywhere.... So we are going - just to get away, eat, and be on a cruise ship. Denise's brother is not too well, so we are trying to spend as much time w/ him as possible. I am just now finishing MY Blog (from Cape Town to Rome) because I had so much to do upon return. Love your format and photos - keep in touch! Fond Regards, Ron 2koolkruisers.wordpress.com/
