PRE SLOVAKOV - PROSIM CITAJTE POD ANGLICKYM TEXTOM ENGLISH Jambo Jambo!! It's been ages since we last bored you all and so much has happened since then. We are physically in Africa now but it seems like it has taken a long time to get here. Well ... the last week in the UK flew by. We'll take you through a thorough list of events leading up to the 12th September 2009 and how we went about getting to where we are, it hasn't been easy like falling off a log as one would have thought. It's been a very eventful yet sometimes stressful. JOBS - I (Zuzana) took voluntary redundancy at work and finished on 21st July. It was very sad to leave as I did work with very nice people. But I knew that ... read more

Airports are full of grumpy people. This is what I have learned today. After having left my parent's home in Indian Hills at 11 AM yesterday morning, I spent what seemed like forever, but only was a day, travelling on airplanes and waiting in airports, and all I could think of the whole time was "The Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul." For those who are not Douglas Adams fans, this book starts out with Thor, the God of Thunder, at an airport trying to get a flight back to Norway, but unfortunately for him he has no form of identification or money to purchase the flight. In the end he ends up sending a lightning bolt through the lady at the ticket counter, the perfect end for the less than helpful woman who gets ... read more

Hello all, Just thought we'd bring you up to speed with where we are, what we've been doing in regards to travel and what things we are thinking about as we head ever closer to the inevitable date of departure. Also as you can imagine, we've been hammering our trip fund with the latest spending sprees at the camping shop just up the road. Where do we start? Well, after the last and may I say "very exciting" entry about buying the tickets, we've now told work about our intentions. We've both applied for a career break. This gives us the opportunity to return back to our work when we arrive home unless we decide to stay with Ian Smith, one of Masai Mara Chiefs forever. When we come back to work it may not be ... read more

Hi everyone, Its time to write another entry and this time it is really a big one! Just to update you on where we are with the 'Travel Plans' at the moment.... In our first entry (20th April 2008) we said that the plan was to set off for Africa in February 2009 and travel for 12 months across 6 continents. Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to postpone the trip to a later date and we didn't really know when that was going to be. We always wanted to go but things became a bit difficult for different reasons. One day around Jan/Feb time Zuzana told me in the car that if things work out well, we would be able to go traveling in September time. So we set ourselves a new target - Traveling ... read more

Eeny Meeny Miny Mo..... OK, the trip is getting forever closer... We've still not bought the tickets yet, but mid April seems to be the time to do it. Just need to get over some small hurdles before we do so. But in essence we're off in September. So where do you start? All the research you possibly can, of course. This goes with everything. Destinations, how to carry money, places to see, budgeting etc etc and of course what the hell do you take? On top of all the research into books and websites we've made our very first purchases and this is kicking the dream into reality. We're really going!!. As we're doing this for the first time we want to make sure that we have all the proper kit. The first of the ... read more

Well where do we start, It has been Zuzanas goal to one day travel around the world and to see all those places that always seem to far far away or maybe in a dream. Some of them you'd have heard of and some of them I didn't even know existed. She has a huge (I mean a monster) map of The World in the living room and she refers to it every day with ideas and places to visit. The idea has been swimming around in our heads since we've been together. But when we came back from Slovakia in the beginning on 2008 and got home knowing work was the next day....we decided that's it - time to get serious! Well she's now given me the bug and at last all the dreaming is ... read more

Well i started this blog the other week in a really triumphant mood, ready to embrace technology and show what i could do, so that when Zoe saw it she'd be v pleased....FAILED. I've now decided that it'll have to be postcards with pictures as i can't get the map to work and spent 2 hours typing in the wrong password before i could write this. I won't give up yet, but i am feeling slightly deflated and less in love with geo-mapping sites. L... read more
