It was a bit of a slog, but after nearly 1200 miles in two days and a broken van we finally made it back to home soil. I don't think either of us has slept so much as in the last couple of days. The boxes of stuff didn't make it to their final destination (Wales) because the van decided it didn't want to go any further. The boxes currently have pride of place in Marianne's parents' porch, which they're really chuffed about.
Yesterday was spent sorting out Marianne's new chip and pin passport which all went surprisingly smoothly, and we both have our international driving licenses so we can now both drive legally in every war zone we'll be passing through.
We also bought what was left on our kit list that we needed, so short of ramming it all into our rucksacks we're pretty much sorted for equipment I think...that reminds me that kitchen sink hasn't arrived yet...
