All over London

After breakfast we spent the morning searching for our next accommodation. We were hoping for a hostel but instead found ourselves booking another hotel. To our disappointment we booked one of the shittiest hotels we've ever stayed in. To say it was just because it DIDN'T have any amenities for $95 (tv, wifi, bathroom) would be an understatement. Any hostel would've put it to shame. Moving on...
We spent the day walking, literally, all over London. Our first stop was the British museum, which housed ancient artifacts from Egypt, Greece, And Rome to name a few. As well as a huge collection of some of the first watches and clocks invented. After the museum we began our trek to the London eye and the River Thames. After deciding not to ride the London Eye we kept walking over the Westminster bridge through British Parliament and by Big Ben. We spent some time watching guys con people into gambling their money in a "which cup is the ball under?" trickery. Pretty entertaining. We made our way through St James park on the way to Buckingham Palace, where we met some of the tamest and craziest pigeons. We could actually coax them to perch on our arm for food. I thought they were gonna attack us! Buckingham Palace was overrated, there were far more attractive and extravagant architectural sights. I think the main attraction was to see the guards in their evil bear fur hats (jk 😉 kinda). After a long, wet day (it rained every ten min on and off) we warmed our souls with happy hour at zoo club. The club that was initially playing top 40 came to a standstill when they turned a British football (soccer) match on projector screens. We watched for a few min then began our long walk back to our unaccommodating hotel, eager to rest on the springs poking out of our mattress. -Melissa
