The remnants of celebratory flags wafted in the breeze especially over the large buildings. King Charles was not in sight and Queen Camilla was missing in action but a few people were wandering around waving flags in a dazed manner. Had they still been celebrating or did they not know it was all over? Most Londoners, and from all accounts most British, seemed to have yawned and watched match of the day instead.

Having arrived the week after I took a few snaps with the obligatory London buses and the fluttering Union Jacks.

We were on our way to the Bloomsbury Cabaret Club to a programme called The Three Queens. Wasn't sure what to expect and I'm not sure the cast did either! I haven't ever been to a cabaret show before but if this was anything to go by it is an excuse for some dancing and singing with no connection or thread. I wanted a story but I suppose it wasn't a play or a musical... The 70 strong contingent from a Norwegian company may or may not have been as perplexed as us if they were hoping for a bit of insight into the history of Elizabeth I, Victoria and Elizabeth II.

St Albans cathedral was spectacular, however, and this was where we wandered to the next morning. The longest nave in England, a wonderfully coloured high altar screen, a wooden shrine to St Alban (reputedly holding a small bone of the saint, the rest of him having found its way to France) magnificent ceilings and wall frescoes. Well worth a look, even a second look I think!

Awesome graffiti
A graffiti from 1627! What an awesome thing to see. I once saw a graffiti from the 18th century in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. Supposedly there is a 1000 year old Viking graffiti in Hagia Sofia in Istanbul. I never found that one though when I was looking for it. /Ake
