Edinburgh, Scotland to
London, England So I left Edinburgh at 11am and got into London at 12:30pm. I was once again a big girl and took "the tube" (look at me talkin' British!) to Russell Square where my hotel,
The Imperial Hotel, is located at. As usual, there was a sense of euphoria when I got to my room and got the backpack off my back!! By that time, it was about 3:00pm and I was supposed to meet up with the tour group at 6pm.
I headed over to the Contiki office and just double checked as to where I was suppose to go at 6 and asked them what I could do in 3 hours. They suggested
The British Museum. So, I spent a couple of hours there and was "museumed" out (the Louvre is going to be wasted on me.) I then headed back to my hotel to crash for 30 minutes before meeting up with everyone. I got to the hotel and asked for my room key (it seems to be common over here that whenever you leave, you drop your room key back off at the desk) and they informed me my roommate
had picked it up. So, guess I got a roommate. She's a very nice gal, Kristina from Brazil, and we seem to be compatible. Unfortunately, she is doing a different tour starting tomorrow so after tonight we will both go our separate ways.
We headed over to the meeting together and I handed over my paperwork to my tour guide (forgot his name already but he's from Toronto!) Kristina was still in a long line for her group and didn't want to do dinner so I headed out on my own to find some food. Sadly, I turned uber American again and went to Pizza Hut. I thought I could order a couple of slices to go but they are set up over here like real restaurants! So, i felt tacky saying "I don't want to eat my food here!" so I got a table and ordered a pasta dish. It was one of those dishes that the first few bites you're thinking "Oh my God, this is great!" and then bite 4 hits and something just doesn't taste right anymore. Still, I've never said no to pasta, why start now.
I headed back to the hotel and
Kristina showed up about 5 minutes later. Since we both have to be at the meeting point at 6:45am tomorrow (ew) we decided to take showers tonight. She went first and I played on the computer- what a shocker, eh? When she was all set, I went into the bathroom and the floor was, not flooded, but quite wet. I snarled in my head about people not being able to dry off in the shower and hopped in. About 5 seconds later I figured out why the floor was quite wet- the water pressure was insane! It was a handheld device so when I unclamped it from the wall I lost my grip on it and it spun like a snake- seriously. I finished with my hose down (a different way to exfoliate) and opened the shower curtain to see that I had actually flooded the floor- it was beyond "quite wet" now. So, I mopped up and staggered back to the desk where you now find me typing this lovely blog.
I hate that I didn't get a chance to experience London, but I'll catch it on another future trip. The tour guide said he'd give us a
mini tour a we drove out of town tomorrow (on our way to Paris!) so that'll have to do. So, I bid you goodnight from London and I'll catch ya tomorrow in Paris!

You recreated a scale model of Niagara Falls for all of Great Britian to experience?
