As we mentioned yesterday we needed a plan to get ourselves into London and to take the car back and to make it as simple as possible in one of the more congested cities of the western world. We think we have worked it out and now today we will put it to the test. Google maps were telling us 2hrs 20mins, as long as traffic flows were normal, but can we rely upon normal in London? Our instincts are telling us to add at least a half hour to anything Google suggests and the same for our GPS. We have a return time for the car of 11.30am so leaving at 7.30am and allowing 3 hours would still give us half an hour up our sleeve, just in case. We were up at 6am, showered ... read more

Abbey Road, Bangers and Mash & Double Decker Buses Should we stay or should we go? Do we continue traveling, or do we forgo our tickets to London and begin working our way towards ‘settling down’? Sometimes when you are on the road for a long time, the thought of having your own place, a cell phone, your own fridge and even a job begins to sound appealing. However, the longer we deliberated the more we realized that our indecisiveness was our answer. While we have the time and lack the responsibility of careers or kids, we should take advantage and use our wanderlust as a reflection period about what we want and where we want to be. It came down to the final day before our flight, but finally we said to each other that ... read more

Hey guys, its a bit early i know but i wanted to get my 1st blog out of the way before i left the country! I have only 2 nights sleep till i have to leave England and take up residence in South Korea, scary stuff huh!? For the past 2 weeks i have been running round London trying to get everything sorted and to be honest it has been a nightmare! Finally got my visa application number through and took passport into the embassy, that all went fine and i saw two hot men there that were getting teaching Visas too.. so things are looking good in that respect. I booked my flight through Korean Air directly so that i wold get an extra 10Kgs allowance (which i desperatly NEED!). Then i never received the ... read more

ok, one day to go, a bit more than 24 hours. stlll haven't packed, have no money and have to finish my tax return before the departure. not good. although i have researched on how to get an upgrade on the long haul flights of 11.50 hours. will have to use all my charms, dress nicely and throw the " it's my birthday tomorrow" card. heck, as i always say, there is no harm trying. ok have tons to do, best to leave the blog till tomrrow when i will be on the plane or at the airport. i wonder if the idea of not sleeping tonight so to spend most of the flight asleep will work or it will just make my life worse when in hong kong with the lam's. bless the mamas i ... read more

darn. ok, not good. still no money and no tax return completed. although i have to admit that i have not "dilly dallied" till now - as i am doing now that is-. i have researched that if i withdraw from hong kong and australia i actually get a much better rate than if i exchange the money now. paul, great tip. flat is still a mess. although i did get a nice lunch with pal paul and had a really tasty grilled tuna steak. must bring peter along when i am back from the land of oz. right, back to uploading music to the laptop then. and yeah ok, paper work as well. - can i hear peter moaning as i write. bless his irish grumpy soul.... read more

ok, so, just put the baby to sleep. peter was exhausted from a really tiring long week. annoying clients and working long hours, poor sod. in the mean time, here i am, writing this at 11.10 pm, trying to keep myself busy as i am intending to sleep as little as possible tonight. i am determined to enjoy hong kong as much as possible so i am trying to win the jet lag in no time by preparing myself beforehand. ok, sure, i might just waste my time and doing this for no actual benefit. but at least i am giving it a try. so everything is packed and ready. almost really. still have to pack up the hand luggage but all what is needed is on the sofa so it will be easy to just ... read more

This morning, roughly 11:45am, barely 8 hours ago, we finally bit the bullet and bought tickets to India. For Friday. In less than 48 hours we'll be on our way to Delhi, and, to answer the question I'm sure anyone reading this will ask themselves; yes, that decision is looking a little bit like a mistake. Although we have every pill and potion known to man (including sterile needles, syringes, rehydration tablets and antidiarrhoeal medicines to rival any local chemist) we have been assured by everyone, from the doctor to the owners of the corner store, that we will be sick, perhaps even on our deathbeds, by this time next week. Good times ahead. However, to assure the assortment of worried parents, don't worry; we have a phone. And it will work in India. And we ... read more
