Today is the day Nikki & I go to pick up our rings before the wedding (Well pick up Nikki’s ring anyway, I got mine for Christmas), we both woke up really excited about getting her ring but the jewellers was not open until 11 so decided to take advantage of the fact with live in London (and the fact we had so much energy) to visit The Natural History Museum and The Victoria & Albert Museum. From the outside the Natural History Museum is an amazing building, it is absolutely huge (much like the queue), when we eventually got in you are greeted by a huge mould of a dinosaur skeleton, as you get closer the vastness of the museum becomes clear. The detail in the brick work is phenomenal with lots of little animals ... read more

Nellie and Monk went carol singing again this afternoon at the Albert Hall with Floss, Flower, Katrina, Moira and Urvashi. Concealed in Monk's man-bag, Nellie managed to get in without a ticket! The Christmas Carol Singalong is a yearly event, almost as well-known and eagerly awaited as The Proms in the summer. It's a mix of traditional Christmas carols and Christmas pop songs from over the decades - everything from 'Away in a Manger' to 'Winter Wonderland'. The conductor, Jonathan Cohen, seems to enjoy the event as much as the audience and, in addition to being multi-talented musically, he's a very entertaining presenter. It's one of the few carol concerts at which the audience is expected to join in. Today the audience was particularly good and the Mexican Wave looked as though it could have been ... read more

Oh dear! I remembered to take my camera with me on Friday and took loads of good photos. BUt when I got home I couldn't find a way to transfer them to the computer. The photos all showed up on the screen of my camera but when I connnected it to the computer it couldn't see them - and the same thing happened when I tried using the card reader. It seems to be a problem with the card because when I put other similar cards into the reader they worked ok. If anyone can suggest a solution, please let me know. Otherwise I'll just use a different card next time and see what happens. Anyway, the walk itself was very pleasant even though it was a cold and blowy day. It was called Parks and ... read more

After day two which was fantastic we were very excited to get back on out and enjoy the sights of the city. We hopped back onto the double decker bus tour and enjoyed our last hour or so of the ticket. We traveled along the blue line and saw parts of London that I'd never seen for, Baker St, parts of Marylebone and sherlock's original home. It was at the latter location that our ticket had expired from so we had to get off the bus and took the tube to Piccadilly Circus, which I wanted Dad to check out. Upon arriving at Piccadilly its neat walking up the stairs out of the tube and seeing the large advertisement screens and gorgeous archictecture. Piccadilly is after all, the Times Square of London. We enjoyed a quick ... read more

Hello all! And thanks for continuing to read our blog. Sorry for the delays its just been a bit hectic and coming back from busy days its not that easy to recount experiences when you're tired ha ha! We awoke the earliest for Day 4, at 6:25am and started getting ready for our tour of the day. We went downstairs for our continental breakfast and ate up quickly as our tour bus was coming to pick us up from the hotel at 8am. When the bus arrived, we gave our tickets and sat and relaxed as the bus hit a few more hotels to pick up fellow travelers until it reached our bus destination of Victoria coach station. From there we had to change buses to find our one that we would be on for ... read more

Hey all, well day 5 has nearly come to an end. It was a very comfortable today as we had seen many of the must-see attractions therefore today was more relaxed. We slept till about 8:30 which is pretty late, leisurely got ready and went down for breakfast. We left to start our day around 11am. We took a bus to Tottenham Court Road and from there took the Northern line to Archway station. From Archway we took a bus (who's driver was a bit rude and didn't tell us when to get out so we missed our stop and had to walk back) to Highgate Cemetery! The Cemetery is very isolated and within the London borough of Islington. We walked around for about an hour and viewed the graves and tombs of deceased Englanders. ... read more

Hey everyone, thanks for all the comments its great to hear from you all. Today was soooo much better than yesterday! We went to sleep before 8pm our time and I woke up at around 5am. I felt really rested as I had like 9+ hours of much needed sleep. I walked into the bathroom with my laptop and chatted on msn and facebook quietly a bit trying not to disturb Dad. With that said he woke up not much later and we sort of just relaxed in the room. I seem to think we have a haunted room though as I kept noticing strange noises coming from the closest. Of course when I mentioned it to Dad the noises never happened again...we've decided to name our live-in ghost George. Later we went downstairs to ... read more
