Thought we would start this blog off before we go...not long now, 17 days!

Its been a mad few weeks trying to get everything done, most things we needed to do are done now except for a few bits...still need to sort out insurance and book our flight home, so two pretty important things...!

Also need to buy a few others bits- Mosquito nets, water purification tablets, sleeping bags liners, travel towels...so glamourous!

We are going to have a practice pack this weekend to make sure we can get all the essentials into our rucksacks...hair straightners, mini hairdryer, make up...and thats just Scott...but seriously I do not know how we are going to fit everything in, just for a weekend away our cases (yes one each) are usually full and over weight...guess we just have to be brutal with what we pack, not something we are very good at.

Just a few more days at work left for me and a couple more weeks for Scott, every spare minute we have had has gone into planning and organising this trip so that we see everything we want to and experience as much as we can.

It's crazy to think that its not just a holiday we are planning for but a 5 month trip round the world, going to be v strange to be away from friends and family for so long and will miss everyone loads but we are so excited now. At first it will probably feel like a normal holiday for us (without all the luxuries, well some of them..) until it sinks in that we have months ahead of us on the road...we can't wait!

Rosana
enjoy! guys good luck with it all. i am jealous, envious and a bit bitter that you're leaving me and travelling around the world but i know that it will be the best experience ever and you will absolutely love it! :) now to the important thing... scott, you must leave your straightener and hair products at home. i'm sure 'essentials' does not have that in the vocabulary. vix, how will you possibly survive without heels or more than 2 pairs of shoes :( i certainly know that i would find it difficult! haha! but seriously, you'll see the most amazing things, eat the nicest and also probably dodgiest food around, and meet some weird and wonderful people (not as weird or wonderful as me so you'll have to come back for that!) and i hope you both have the most awesome 5 months away. i will miss you both loads and can't wait to have regular updates on your whereabouts and experiences :) love you guys rosana xxxxx

Scott without his pink straighteners...is like Milli without Vanilli
It just won't work! Ha, Vix, good luck putting up with him for the next 5 months, with any luck he might come back a new man (yes, Scotty, a MAN, i.e. no pink hair straighteners!) Have a fantastic time, me and Gilly are very jealous - makes our month in Oz seem like just a long weekend in comparison!! Scotty, see you at your drinks. Cheers, Skis

Sounds amazing! We plan on traveling the world for a year with our 2 children in 6 years. Pulling them out of school and teaching them on-line as we travel. Where do you plan on visiting? Sorry if I missed that detail :)
