The 3rd Celta weekend(14th-15th August) was dedicated to writing assignment number 3- Skills Related Tasks where we had to prepare a listening lesson , with a rationale and 6 follow-on activities.

Tue the 17th was a loong day! In the morning we had 1h30min to write our 4th Assignment - Lessons from the Classroom where we had to draw together and articulate what we had learnt about teaching techniques and principles from our own classroom teaching ,observing our peers' classroom teaching and observing experiences teachers at work. We were asked to refer to our own teaching strengths and weaknesses and choose 4 topics to focus on. I chose Concept Checking, TTT, instructions/ setting up activities and use of whiteboard/OHP. In the afternoon I delivered a lesson on skills: a 60min class on Writing a website profile which was TP ( teaching practice) number 9 and final TP I taught. It was fairly successful as I had managed to put together a listening activity, with the pre-listening stages and follow-on activity, a grammar lesson on Time Sequencers, a contest to increase energy levels, some speaking practice and a bit of writing.

On Wed we got the results for assignment number 3 and 4. I had passed both and did not need to resubmit them, which felt really good!! 😊

On Thu there was a Cambridge inspection checking if input classes and TPs and everything went according to Cambridge regulations. A sort of quality control routine check-up which is quite customary in the UK and institutions which care about delivering quality services.

Friday was half-day with focus on young learners where we did loads of games and activities which I cannot wait to put to good use in my classes!!😊 We went and had lunch at Nando's before saying goodbye to some lovely people I've grown very attached to. Hema organised a nice get-together in the evening and we had some delicious Indian food, closing in a very warm and relaxed way a beautiful chapter called CELTA which has had such a great impact on all our lives. Can't wait to step into a classroom again and teach using the new methods!! 😊
