Allo. It's now up to me (J) to post a blog for all your reading pleasure. Today started late, around 1230 we left here. We took the bus down to the tube where we proceded to find the British Museum. After not being able to locate it we gave up and went on a journey to go to the Tower of London. We spent about 2 hours looking for it...after going across the London bridge twice we finally managed to get to where we were going. The Tower of London is where they hold all the royal jewels. We got on to this moving sidewalk to keep people from gawking too long. There were signs telling us that picture taking is a big NO NO and I acturally got the 3rd degree from a Beefeater because ... read more

After one evening of sensory overload in Trafalgar Square, Liecester Square and Piccadilly Circus we were ready to attempt sleep, but alas we were still on Nova Scotia time (gravol helped for one of us- Not M). J suffering with dry nostrils got her first nosebleed in the UK. Iceland has one wickedly secure airport. It is sleek and modern and they have cool luggage carts. The most interesting sight would have been the fish skin lamp shades. The airline was great and served us well. Heathrow Airport in very very large and busy and was the first moment where the sights and sounds were all around me (M). I cannot wait to visit the shops on our way back home. I will try and post some pics tomorrow, until then check your email. ... read more

As Joey on Friends would say...toot de la fruit! Richard is rather caught up in lying around with his foot up so after a week or so of this it is my turn to get the blog up to date. With heavy hearts and sun browned limbs we said goodbye to San Sebastian and headed to Bordeaux, our second to last Busabout stop. The bus was absolutely packed with idiots crammed in for a long day to Paris - 8am to 9pm. We were smart to break this up with a couple of nights in Bordeaux. Once again we weren't staying at the Busabout accommodation so had somewhat of a walk to find our hotel. Once again the bus didn't stop at the hostel so we had to rework our map and totally guess where we ... read more

Roho: It's the blog you've all been waiting for! Well, not really, it's the update some of you have been hassling us for. We're back in London now so plenty of time to update everything. So last time you heard from us we'd just arrived in Madrid... Rich: It was Rohani's job when we got off the bus to walk us in the direction of our hotel. Yet again, we walked the wrong way. Thankfully this time it was only two to three hundred metres in the wrong direction. Roho: Firstly, you tend to work your route out from the Busabout hostel, which is the 'drop off point'. But the bus almost never stops at the hostel. So when the bus stops a five minute walk from its hostel you have to start all over again. ... read more

Roho: Brrrr! Rich: Yes, lesson learnt. Roho: Get bigger backpacks? Rich: You should never underestimate how hot or cold it can be in London...as we found out at the weekend. Roho: I never underestimated the weather...hello, who's my Daddy? I overestimated the capacity of my backpack for more than one jersey! So why don't you start with Saturday...? Rich: Our first stop was the Tower of London. This was to be a whirlwind tour, as time was against us with so much to see. The Crown Jewels were absolutely phenomenal and were worth the nearly 60% off it cost us to get in, as Rohani will explain. Roho: Roho's Top Travelling Tip Number One - bugger getting someone who knows the place to show you around. Get someone WITH A DISABILITY who knows the place to ... read more

Roho: So flying long haul sucks even if you thought you were smart to break it up halfway in Singapore for a week. And for the gateway to the Middle East for an extremely popular and otherwise very lovely airline, Dubai Airport is a heap of shit. Rich: Mainly due to the showerheads next to the toilets - I mean what the hell are you supposed to do with those things? Roho: Wash your....self, I would think...but I didn't think you even got to see the toilets because of the filth? I didn't get near the toilets because of the queue! Rich: I had to queue too - for the first time in my life! I walked in, saw the water all over the floor of my toilet cubicle and thought 'I'll save it for the ... read more
