Now I'm camping all over the eastern US with my R-pod, a small camper trailer.
I retired. In 2006 I finished volunteering in Guatemala,
finished being a foreign expert at Nanjing Normal University in China, from August 2006 to July 2007.
For the years afterward, I have traveled several places in the USA; visited a spa in Mexico; northern Europe in February '08 with friends from China. June 2011 another trip to Mexico, to Rio Caliente Spa. But staying home got boring. So I'm still camping the country and visiting relatives and friends all over the place.

Buses and phone boothsYes, all the buses were red, double deckers, and they drove on the left. Eerie. Reminded me of Hong Kong, but there all the taxicabs were red. Notice the red phone booth in this shot. Yes, most were red, maybe all of the booths.
National GalleryThe National Gallery is beautiful on the outside and on the inside. We took a short tour and the history of the rooms was described, as well as the paintings and statues.

HarrodsThe brown building in the background is Harrods, the famous department store. They were having their January sale. I bought coffee, cheese and marmelade. It's really a very expensive store.
sign for "Rent"Here is the theatre street and the neon sign for Rent and others.
windows in neighborhood churchOn Sunday I went around the block from our hotel, Royal Court Apartments, to the Anglican church. It's a small congregation, high church, lots of incense, much formality, beautiful acoustics for the choir. Overall a beautiful and friendly church. Their ad was at the underground station that we used, Lancaster Gate.
train station for EurostarThe Eurostar train is high speet, 2 hours to Paris from London. It goes under the English Channel, in the chunnel. It's very modern and comfortable.
