Amazingly, we got up early!? Spent the day working on the computer, reading/sending emails, entering entries on travelblog and relaxing. Starting to feel homesick again, probably for the usual reasons. It's a Saturday, we've stopped travelling, and we're faced with going back to work. 16/4/2006 We were up early again, and being Easter Sunday Kez had hidden chocolate eggs all around the lounge room when she got home late last night which pleased Beck no end. A couple of eggs were unaccounted for and while there were accusations flying everywhere there disappearance remains a mystery! Beck is really struggling with homesickness today with all of her family down the beach for Easter, along with Kate, Zoe and Sammy. We went to the gym for a swim, and we finally got some laps in. Yay! The rest ... read more

I can't remember being so wired from sleep, but despite this and being laid out on seats I couldn't get to sleep. Beck pinched a little bit of sleep but we were both wrecked when we got on the plane. Beck asked for a pillow for me straight away and I fell fast asleep. It seemed like I had been asleep for ages, but I woke up (slightly) when the plane took off before falling straight back to sleep. I had tiny patches where I woke up, but for the most part I slept until we were coming in to land at Frankfurt. We had plenty of time to kill before our connecting flight, so we went hunting for a decent breakfast but had no luck. We settled on pancakes and yoghurt. After breakfast we went ... read more

So it's good friday, a holy day so where better to go but football to pray that our beloved gills can win the game against top of league one team Southend. So random man and willis jumped into the rover and set off in the pouring rain to pick up the rest of the gang. So it was a quick dash to 133 darland avenue to collect mr and mrs stamp and we were on our way. We travelled up the M2, M25 through the dartford tunnel and came off at junction 29 for the very long A127. No famous gills fans spotted on this journey which meant random man could concentrate on the road more until we all spoted something unusual at the side of the road. At first we thought someone had built some ... read more

It was good to have a full night's sleep. Matty came around in the morning so Beck could give him a treatment for his back. Then it was off to Frank and Lena's in West Horndon for lunch. Unfortunately, we just missed our train and we had bought our tickets. Despite this, we caught a bus to Upminster and cut our losses. We got to Upminster a little bit late, and contemplated catching a train to West Horndon, but we rang Frank instead. He was there in ten minutes, and before we knew it we were catching up with Aunty Lena and their dog Tramp. We had some lunch, and plenty of red wine to go with it. The rest of the afternoon was spent mainly talking about two of my favourite subjects, travel, and my ... read more

I was going to put this entry with the last one, but 'Ali' the man behind TravelBlog had an entry from Billericay so I thought I'd include my own. It was up early again today even though the holidays are here. Some of the staff had organised paintball or skirmish, and I was on board. I rang Ravi and Matty to make sure they got up in time, but I couldn't get on to Matty. However, Matty was up when Ravi and I pulled in to his drive, but both of the boys were a bit dusty this morning. We got to school late for the organised time of eight, but we were still there well before some others who were obviously still shaking off the merriment of the night before. We didn't get to paintball ... read more

School was surprisingly good today, and although I was tired I got through the day without any dramas. Beck said the same thing with the golf shop. 28/3/2006 Beck and I were both actually more tired today than Monday. It's cruel how sleep deficit catches you when you think you have it covered. It's a bit embarrassing, but I cooked for the first time in the UK tonight, it was a mean spaghetti and Swedish meatballs all the same. You would have been proud of me Mum! 29/3/2006 I had actually been dreading today, or more to the point tonight for over a week now. Parent/Teacher evenings aren't exactly a blast at the best of times, but when you have to sit with someone who has a completely different philosophy to you on education, then it ... read more

Had a bit of trouble with the kiddies today, so I rang some parents after school, and they all proved to be very supportive. By the time I had done this and faxed off my paper work I had to rush and get changed for soccer/football. The line-up had changed, so I actually started at left-back, but I was back to left midfield after 10 minutes. We went in at half-time 1-0 up. After half-time we were awarded a penalty, and Matty graciously offered to let me take it. I declined for fear that I would miss, and if we lost or drew it would have been my fault. Matty calmly slotted the penalty, and that was the final score 2-0. I had a couple of really good chances to score, but I blew it. One ... read more

I was meant to play soccer/football again today in a game that Rod had organised. Unfortunately for Rod they changed the time, and he had to work so that was the end of that. It wasn't a bad end result as Beck and I went to the gym and had a relaxing day. 19/3/2006 Beck had to work today, and then we were catching up with Kezza Stenhouse in London while she is down from Edinburgh. I went to the gym and had a pretty cruisy day before I met Beck at Upminster Station. We caught the tube to Shepherd's Bush for our next encounter with a Walkabout. This one was a bit different with everyone off their face. The slurred word was that everyone had been to the infamous 'Church', and was the reason everyone ... read more

School was a bit of a battle again today with my tough classes, but I had soccer, and the weekend to look forward to. Originally I thought I would just be goalkeeper, but it sounds like I'll be up the ground since I can run a bit. I had to fax off my timesheet and JSA claim form, and then it was time to get ready. I ended up playing left midfield, and I really enjoyed it. I actually played alright, I had the first big shot on goal of the game, which I hit really hard, but the goalie saved it. We ended up winning 3-1 with all the goals being scored in the second half. Their goalie really carried on, and was everyone's least favourite person on the field. I made a few mistakes, ... read more
