Sand like that at Whitehaven
I woke at 3.30am ready to start the day as it was about 10.30am KL time, there was still lots of partying going on outside still, so I thought it safer to stay in bed and get more sleep - also can you imagine me waking Greg at that time!!! Beautiful sunny day approx 25 degrees.
We left hotel at about 8am and the town was like a ghost town nothing open and only people around were the occasional jogger, bike rider and the poor council cleaners cleaning up the mess from the night before. We walked along the beach front to the Brighton Pier which didn’t open till 10am, we had a problem trying to find somewhere for breakfast as everything closed, we finally found a little café overlooking the pier and had a cooked breakky. Couldn’t eat the bread cooken in Oil. We then decided to walk to the Marina as the Volk’s electric train didn’t start until 10.15am and no shops opened until after 10am. It was only about 9.15am. When we got to the marina there was lots of restaurants, the markets were starting to set up and we looked at all the boats etc. We

had a coffee in a pub and used the free wifi to skype home. By now we think the whole of Brighton and London had awoken, there were people everywhere all set up on the beach in their hired deck chairs and riding bikes. We then caught the Volks train back to the pier and wondered around all the activities on the pier and had a seafood lunch. (The Volks train is the oldest Electric train service in England)
Wandered back to room for a rest and a cuppa and then read the festival magazine and decided to go and watch a comedy show at the courthouse theatre. Headed back for hotel via the Pavillion and the Lanes area. We stumbled across the oldest licensed pub in Brighton because we could here live music and see a crowd at the door listenening. Went in for a cider and decided to to listen for awhile. Back to hotel to grab another layer of clothing and ready to head out for dinner and watch the fireworks.
Guess what??? We both got sun burnt in LONDON.
