EXCITED !! Hell yes

Friday afternoon & it is nearly time, have had a really busy week, (feeling sorry for Hubby, really busy in work & being dragged out, see next paragraph lol) so no surprise the time has flown by, and I still haven't finished the packing, alright I don't actually do the packing, as Mr Perfect won't let me !! But all this preperation & still not enough hours in the day, haven't had time to visit family yet, but friends are coming tonight, (better not involve any drinking after visitors last weekend, but I won't go in to that !!)

Had surprise visitors turn up for their anniversary in the week, so it was only polite to show them the joys of 'The Barbican' a beautiful part of Plymouth with some wonderful history & numerous eating establishments (we went for a meal at a sausage & mash restaurant, which was tasty & quite reasonable) & some very respectable hostileries, of which we visited many. (ouch my head) If ever in Plymouth, this area is well worth a visit, even if it's to tell your friends that you drank in a pub, The Minerva, dating back to 1540 (& there are some a lot older), it is also a working fishing port - very scenic, has the National Marine Aquarium - well worth a visit, the Elizabethan Gardens - very pretty & quiet, the Mayflower Steps and is close to the world famous Hoe, where Drake played bowls before defeating the Spanish Armada and many, many, more wonderful sights & delights worth visiting. (that's my tourist board bit done, oh & if down this way contact Three Town Tours, who give walking tours of the area, lovely guy)

Mentioning 'eating establishments' one of mine & Hubby's favourite pastimes, one of many I might add, this has now given Hubby ideas, never a good sign, that he might interfere, sorry I mean contribute, to this blog by adding a 'Food Corner' section, so be warned 'The Critic' is coming!
