Edit Blog Post

Ok, so it might be a little early to start our blog but the planning part of the trip seemed worthwhile to keep everyone a bit of perspective what it takes to actually get us on this dream holiday thingy!
What we've done so far is come up with a plan that will get us the whole way round Australia & New Zealand in 340 days ... we start on Monday 27th April. The plan details what the weather is like in the places we're going to visit and literally how many nights we plan to stay. That was the easy bit because we've 'stolen' the plan which Mum and Dad used when they did the exact same trip 4 or so years ago!!
The tough bit is coming up - trying to organise how we buy a campervan when we get there! On my check list of things to do this week we have:
Visas - we need a 12 month holiday visa that allows us multiple entry to Australia
Travel Insurance - good insurance for the entire trip
Australian bank account - we figure we'll need one!
Flight tickets - need to get some definate quotes on these

We've got a project plan too (!) in an attempt not to miss anything out!
So, the planning officially starts here .... we'll keep you updated!!

Never too early
Hi both, it is never too early, it is great to get people interested early in the blog and advertise it well. We made a postcard and sent it to our christmas card list and told people not to send us a christmas card as we would not be in England. Seek as much advice as you can. It does help, don't rush into any decision until you are sure it is right for you. We will be watching with interest and if our paths cross then it would be nice to catch up and swap stories. We will be in Melbourne in next couple of weeks, too early for you. Then onto Tasmania for a couple of weeks, then back on the mainland to continue around Aus clockwise. Good Luck (I am envious that you have your adventure to look forward to, a lot of the fun is in the planning). Emotions run high in the final days before leaving, but don't let it stop you!!!
