Yes it is Chesterfield again . I am in my little world , my own little bubble in and around the village where I live . I would walk 5000 miles if I could . If feels as if I have walked 5000 recently as I pound round the estate day after day . Why did we choose a bungalow at the top of a hill? It is pay back time now as my walks take me up hill all the time with very little flat land to walk on. That was one of the reasons we wanted to move . To find somewhere nearer to civilisation and shops . To be on the flat so walking would not be quite so irksome. Now if I were losing weight then the hills would be a bonus . However I am not so all this exercise is doing nothing more than getting me out and about into the fresh air of Derbyshire . The day has developed into a routine . Up the same time every morning. Drink coffee . Walk at the same time every morning . I say hello and wave to the milkman . Back home - coffee and
cake . Jigsaw puzzle , play Mahjong , Make dinner . The morning follows the same pattern . I mix the afternoon with washing clothes and cleaning . A walk up the back garden . TV at night and then the whole thing starts again tomorrow .
It is Day 15 of the lockdown . I think it is Day 15. The days are melding into each other . Friday feels like Monday . The weekend feels like any old weekday. Apparently we have been told on our daily rousing speech on the TV that the Queen will be sending us all a message of hope . Just like she did when Princess Diana died and just as her father did during the War. I am not sure she is going to make me feel any better about the lockdown .Apparently we are now not being asked to stay home but we are being instructed to stay home . The language becomes more plainer, more to the point in anticipation of the Easter break . The two weeks when traditionally we would be out and about enjoying the sunshine . We would have been doing the holiday countdown. The butterflies getting more and more agitated by the day. Tonight has been designated "Camping Tent " Take your tent out and sleep outside . Go and sleep in your motorhome . Now that is an idea worthy of the thought. Perhaps we will . Gabby feels very neglected . It seems that perhaps in a few weeks to save the economy of the country we may all be allowed out . The idea to try to get us all immune to Corona Virus . Not sure that it will work but then again we need to get back to some kind of normality .
My calendar has moved from Eastern philosophy to Bruce Lee . " Adjust to the object " he tells me and "I will find a way round or through it " .. Positive thought - in three weeks time we would have been driving from work down the M1 to our overnight stop at Canterbury Park and Ride . Three weeks yesterday we would have been on the Tunnel and across to Europe heading in a northerly direction . Three weeks today we may have been in Holland - perhaps Amsterdam. I would have been walking around the canals , visiting the famous Red Light area . Eating waffles and drinking strong coffee . Smelling the smells of Amsterdam . . The object the trip has moved but I am positive we will find a way round it .
The Aintree Festival has been cancelled and tonight we are being shown a virtual race . Bookies are out in force on the TV and it is possible to bet on the result . Now that's something to look forward to tonight . As Easter comes round we never expected to be stuck at home . Funny what life throws at you.
