Settling In - Thursday

Well, it’s late Friday evening and the entire camp is set up and ready to go! The advance party arrived Thursday at 3.30pm and began the difficult task of building a tented village for over 50 of us. By the time it was dark, most of the canvas was up, we had electric power for lights and refrigeration and the chemical toilets were fully primed and raring to go.

Getting ready for Tomorrow - Friday

Friday morning saw the completion of the camp, running water and washing facilities installed and we began to build the climbing wall. The wall was completed by tea-time (a record), thanks to Sellars and Andy for that. The “main” party arrived at lunch-time and were shown to their tents, almost everyone on camp now. The afternoon saw the lads exploring the area around the site and taking part in some team games. As I write this, they are climbing on the wall, fishing and lighting fires.

The weather forecast isn’t too good for the next few days but we have a host of activities to keep everyone busy. More tomorrow (hopefully!).
