Days 13 - 17 So the last week has been interesting, leaving Glastonbury we headed to Abergavenny in Wales, unfortunately it was extremely busy, and although we found a car park, couldn't get the meter to work, so left there and trotted off to Ross-On-Wye, a great little historical village for a look around, onto Hereford and Ludlow for the night. Leaving Ludlow the next morning I managed to strain my back, the next few days were just driving to the next destination with minimum stops. Ludlow to the quaint village of Much Wenlock for lunch, to Ironbridge for the first iron bridge built in Britain and into Shrewsbury for the night. Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and onto the freeway to Melksham for a night, then back through the Cotswold's & Dartmoor National Park to St Neot, back ... read more

DAY 4 - PAIGNTON Day 4 - A stroll along the seafront to breakfast at our new favorite "Greggs". What followed next was extremely surprising, lucky & humbling. We stumbled across Paignton Parish Church, which dates back over 900 years. A quick hello and chat to Bob, the groundsman, and an private tour invitation followed, so off we go! Inside this beautiful Church with Bob giving us a history lesson. We met Vicar Nicholas and assistant Ruth, who spent time speaking with us and telling us about the history. The Organ which is 200 years old, the stained glass windows, the Bell Tower, all told with great pride and passion by Vicar Nick & Bob. The Bob announces he's taking us to the roof, so up through the 900 year old original stairs we go for ... read more

Had a great weekend staying with Ant and Tamsyn. Saturday Tam took us to Looe and we had fish and chips cooked by Grace herself and then went to Fowey to check out where we might moor the boat for a while. Sunday we Phoned up to see if we could make impromptu visits with other rellies and managed to catch up with Lizzy and ????? and their 10 day old baby boy Archie. Donna popped in too for a bit and then we were on our way to see Brian. While we were there Ann popped in, so we did end up catching up with quite a few. Dinner sunday night was with Lindsay, Non, Grace and Tamsyn. Ant had gone up to the Welsh Royal Show for his Stag weekend. A great weekend catching ... read more

So, memories of Cornish holidays in times gone by led me to recollect the shopping experience at one of the nation's three branches of Trago Mills, a shopping outlet in the south-west. Given that I am a sucker for bargains, resistance seemed too futile, and with that in mind, I was pulling into the entrance of Liskeard's very own branch thereof. The shopping complex is tastefully done out with statues of various figures strategically placed next to the car park area, alongside a stream, which gives the impression that this is very much a slice of quaint old England, which proudly sports its identity. This is most definitely an 'all-under-one-roof' shopping complex, and browsing can only lead to a few casual purchases as a direct result of spotting items which 'might as well be thrown in ... read more

A MONTH ON A PAGE Well as you can see we have become a little behind with our blogging, so we shall try and summarise the last month on one page to catch you all up. We spent a few fun filled evenings around at Helen and John’s house (Charlotte's best friend from school, who has recently moved back to Cornwall), with there children Bethany and Spencer. We ended up going around there to watch all of the world cup games that we managed to get through to, until that fateful night that Germany whooped our arse, yet again. But at least we had the sunshine, a BBQ and beer to console us. John, Charlotte’s father, and Denise had a couple of weeks holiday and fancied visiting her family up in Western-Super-Mare, so we offered to ... read more

CORNWALL - HALF TERM Tuesday and we are back off to Plymouth, Charlotte is accompanying her sister Caroline for a wedding dress fitting and Liam is off for a swan around Plymouth shopping centre. Arriving at Caroline’s there was an initial panic as she had lent her shoes to a friend and only just realised she had not got them back, off to Torpoint on the ferry she went, but she was soon back and away to the wedding dress shop we went. After the relief of the zip doing up, not that she needed to worry, we had a little look at head gear and sparkly things which was quite fun. We met up with the boy’s just outside the shopping city and we went for a coffee and cake Costa Coffee in the House ... read more

CORNWALL - THE HOMECOMING The journey down was surprisingly easy and trouble free, it was quite nice for Charlotte to be watching the countryside go by rather than driving! Caroline met us on the Royal Parade in Plymouth just after 10pm and whizzed us home to her house. A couple of glasses of wine and a quick catch up, along with present giving, then Caroline and Murray were off to bed. And we had a couple of hours to unwind and watch Cranberry (their cat) bring in a mouse play with it then chase it up the curtains before we too were off up the stairs. Caroline and Murray went off to work and left us with the run of the house, and the dead mouse in the middle of the living room carpet (Cranberry 1 ... read more
