My leave came at last, although a little earlier than expected due to emergency leave. Although it was a very sad time it was also great to see so many of my family that I haven’t seen for a long time, some longer than others and my friends!
It was a jam packed two weeks!
Halloween (one of my favourite nights of the year) was very tame this year due to circumstances, but I got to celebrate Bonfire Night (another favourite) twice! One with family and one with friends, both times I ended up at the Jockey which seems to have become a bit of a habit during those two weeks!
I thought I would miss it this year, but due to being back earlier than planned I didn’t. Every year as a Polish tradition we go my grandfather’s grave and the priest blesses it with Holy Water and afterwards we have an amazing Polish meal with my Dad’s family. Food is always amazing and was great to see my family there and also meet my cousin’s first baby, Baby Connor!! Ahhhhh he’s so cute! He was born the day my Nana Pat passed away.
before Nanas funeral, lots of family were up North and staying over so all the immediate family (that were up the night before) went for a meal into Manchester at the Teriyaki Japanese! Well what fun! Nana would have loved it!!!! You sit around the hot plate (the kitchen) in a U shape……….. They cook your food in front of you and whilst doing this entertain you by tossing cooked potatoes in the air and you have to catch it……. In your mouth!!!!!!! And later you have to take it in turns to put the chefs hat on and flip an egg in the air and catch it in your hat!!!! Very very funny!!!! Only Carl caught it. The rest were smashed ALL over the restaurant!!!!!!! A great night out!……………. We followed the meal by a few cocktails at the Hilton Cloud 23 Bar, with great views of Manchester.
Claire and Kat came up from London which was great! So good to see you girlie twirlies!! An amazing time was had as always! Although I feel confident to say that the Jockey is the way forward- Wilmslow is rubbish!!!!!!!
I popped into my old work too. Managed to
see a few ex colleagues but unfortunately a few were off!! Was great to see those of you who I saw. Not sure Lindsay, Linds and Martin if anyone mentioned me popping in but sorry I missed you! Lindsay been in the new choc shop…. Looks amazing! Mum had a funny incident there when watching the “chefs” make the chocolate…. The rather young and good looking “chef” was mixing the chocolate and licking his finger whilst staring at my mum and her friend!!!! Mums friend said it’s the best day she’s had in a long time!!! He He!
As silly as it sounds it was great to wrap up warm and to also feel rain!?!?!? Mum and I went for a crisp walk up on the edge which was lovely, really enjoyed it. (Mum you need a dog!) Its funny how much you appreciate England for its beautiful trees and landscape when you go away! Mum thought I was crazy snapping away at the trees!!! I never thought I would say this but its great to see all of the Christmas adverts on TV!!!!…… in Dubai there is no sign, infact you even forget its nearly Christmas!!!! Maybe if
I’m not back for Christmas that might be a good thing having no signs, I can safely say its my favourite time of year and not being at home for it is horrible……….. I’m praying for days off over that period or even close!!
A lot of time was spent with my family, which was lovely! Got to see and spend a lot of time with my beautiful nieces!
Girls and Boys was great to see you all…………………………. Thanks for all the support during this difficult time… lots of love xxxx I must say the leaving do in you know where was probably the best so far!!!! He He!!! You know you all love it!!!! Remember my Mum will tell me if she catches you in there!
