The wait is getting shorter and shorter! We are both very excited about our upcoming trip but as most people will know, a bit sad about having to be separated for a whole month! Haha, actually I bet Andy will love his "alone time" before 3 full months of Carla. Plus I'll get to have lots of time to get spoiled by my family (only child? me? meh). I am leaving in less than a week and have already said goodbye a lot of people, it's a bit sad but I know we will both have a good time, will be great to see my family and finally getting to know my own country and I bet Andy will be bilingual this time next year.... we'll keep you posted! - Carla La espera se acorta cada ... read more

Right, well have been back a week and it's the night before I go back to school. Ben went back to work on tuesday and both of us are totally amazed at how quickly things have returned to normal. Have uploaded lots of piccies onto Facebook but haven't actually got round to uploading Singapore piccies on here. The flight was mostly fine and we got to Heathrow 10 minutes ahead of schedule. We were back in our ickle house for just gone 7.00 that morning and I'm pleased to say neither of us have really suffered with jet lag. It really was an amazing five weeks and I'm already thinking of where we can go next but unfortunately we have the small (!) issue of saving first. If you're thinking of going to Oz (or even ... read more

Okay! So, this is the night before, and I am freaking terrified. I only just finished packing at about 10pm and luckily everything fitted in. It has totally not sunk in that I am about to go to Thailand for 4 weeks. Not in any way. Hopefully I have everything I need! Libby and Lauren are here which is excellent because I think they'll keep me sane. Tomorrow morning we need to be up at 6am in order to get to Heathrow for our 10am flight, which should be fantastic. Right, time for sleeping.... read more

Well time has come to face up to the fact that the dream is over and real life has to take over again. Lots of questions remain unanswered but even more have been answered. Life all of a sudden becomes more real and seems to make a hell of a lot more sense. Things seem to be put in to perspective. Don't know what I am talking about? Try taking a period of time out of normal every day life and take a step in to the big scary old world and you may start to comprehend where I am coming from. I think now that I spent 24/7 with my family for over six months in the very strangest situations and countries it makes you realise what is important and what makes you happy. Well ... read more

As some of you may know we are now home. .......or at least back in the UK. We had a fantastic trip, but we did cut it short. We decided to come home as I was home sick and had had enough of being part of this machine that is tourism.... I became very jaded with the whole thing and needed to come home and feel more grounded. Living out of a suitcase for 6 months is hard work and when you are a family of 4 it's even harder..... To say it is intense is an understatment. I dont know if I would recomend it to most families... but we did it and I hope it has changed us all.... I know it has me..... It has made me realise that England is not all ... read more
