After some time and heartache, I came to terms with my decisions and continued to see the person that I had feelings for and it blossomed into a fantastic relationship. May I introduce Carly, now meeting someone at work is not an uncommon factor in everyday life, working 10 hours a day with someone we can only hope it is someone we actually like being with.. Phew I pulled the lucky straw. Not only was Carly a lot younger than myself, good looking and generally a little bit blonde, but she was also the wildlife park owner’s Granddaughter. Needless to say my Ex Boss was not a happy man. She decided to join me living back in Bristol and we began to make plans. We both got jobs and decided to spend some of our money ... read more

So over half a year since I returned, and about as long since my last, I have finally got around to putting up my last blog. I have also managed to write up some of the entries I had in notebooks; it feels like some kind of closure. For anyone thinking of doing anything similar, I would recommend writing as a form of keeping your sanity and adjusting to a different life. The longer I was in away the less it became a necessity and more a pleasure but it always offered a way of releasing scrambled, often contradictory, thoughts. Even if it didn't always make sense of them, at least seeing that they were not as weird and ridiculous as they had seemed in my head offered some consolation. Whilst I have bleated on for ... read more

My bad boy lifestyle changed when I met Jayne, she was an older woman with two children, I concentrated all my efforts on winning the heart of this woman, and we finally married and introduced the world to Daisy. As a family you work hard and build a home and take a family holiday once every five years or so, well this was my experience of course. Family holidays are expensive things and being a not so qualified but talented worker we did not do much travelling. Although my journey started in Bristol as a young man then I became a husband then a father, things took a turn for the worst in the neighbourhood we were living in and for the sake of the children, we relocated to North Devon. We had gone there for ... read more

Well I suppose I better introduce myself properly. My name is Jason or Jay as most of my friends would call me, a mature student that decided to take another go at education and really see, if by some small chance I may be able to make a difference in this life. Sick of just working to please somebody else and watching everyone else reap the benefits of my hard labour it was time for change. This is supposed to be a travel blog and to be honest I haven’t travelled quite as far or as wide as I would have liked in the past. Why I ask myself? Commitment is a wonderfully grounding experience and I mean that in a positive and also negative way, when I was younger man I would run amok, get ... read more

Woooaaahhhhhh. A blog. Haven't done this in a while. Should be an indiction of what a whirlwind the last months have been. I have now been in Bristol for precisely four weeks. From where we left off, Contiki; Night before - August 23rd; stayed in a place up the road from the Contiki departure point after leaving a considerable amount of my belongings behind in my Aunt and Uncle's garage in Watford. Attended the kick off party and met a handful of people whose names I couldn't recall but who I was told would, in 21 days time, be like best friends who I would never want to part with. Day one; Here began the first of many bright and early starts to begin the coach trip to Paris. We stayed in the Ibis hotel in ... read more

The long awaited holiday has arrived. Working through the summer while other people go on annual leave has been pretty tortuous but now its my turn to have a break. Three weeks in Armenia should do the trick. Everything is packed, the cat is fed and finance report sent to rowing Club secretary. So now I've got a bit of time to have a coffee and start the blog before setting off to get the coach to Heathrow.... read more

Soon my life will change BIG time. I'm currently finishing my a-levels of Geography, Biology and Psychology and once the sun has set on the 22nd of june 2012 i am a free woman! The world interests me, along with animals, art, people and knowing that "When you do the things that you can do, you will find a way." as quoted by winnie the pooh. With no plans for university i'm taking some time to explore the world properly. I'd love to travel around australia for a year, maybe stay in one place for a while, get some work and live the lifestyle. Then travel back to the uk through indonesia, thailand and finishing in india volunteering at an animal shelter for a month. With little saved money and no current job all this seems ... read more

GETTING READY TO GO, BRISTOL, UK. Wednesday 15th February, 2012. We have got our visas for India, have booked six nights accommodation in Malaysia and hired a car. M is too fat to fit in most of her posh clothes and burned a few calories taking all the 'too small' stuff to the charity shop. Still waiting for the itinerary for Inda and are in negotiations about our Bagan trip in Myanmar. Looks like an overnight sleeper train - that will be an experience! Hopefully everything will be in place before we leave next Tuesday. M's uncle Les is taking us to the airport. We will leave Bristol on Saturday 18th Feb and visit D's daughters Jenny and Lucy and grandchildren Larry and Georgina. Then we will go and see D's dad and sister before ending ... read more
