Ok so I haven't been doing much lately. Staying in Maidenhead, watching football and cricket, playing pool and hanging out with friends. But that is plenty for now. Thought you all might like to have a peek at who Im hanging out with.
The other day we went out to Smokey Joes. Met some friends there and spent the night drinking and dancing. Our new housemate went with us too. Oh, forgot. We have a new housemate. His name is Johannas; or just Jo. He has a little girl which is often running around the house on the weekends. She's cute, and pretty quiet for a 4 year old. Jo is from South Africa and has been lots of places. He's an easy guy to get along with and works as an electrical engineer, just down the road. He's pretty funny and likes a beer after work. We get along just fine.
Anyway, back at Smokey Joe's. Not to be confused with our buddy Jo, cuz well, he doesn't smoke. But we were all at the bar and having plenty of fun. There was also a special guest appearance by 'Antonio the Spanish Lover' as well. Spinning his game
on all the hot chicks. He is so 'money'. Really knows how to work a crowd. But don't believe me because I remembered my camera this time. So, I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Take it easy ladies. He might not be much to look at, but this boy has got some MAD GAME. Given the chance, he would have you buying his drinks and holding his jacket. Who could resist a Spainard with crazy broken english skills. Not to mention, you could always put him back in your pocket. Just kidding. He is a really sweet guy though. Sometimes I just want to squeeze his head till his eyes pop out. You know what I mean. And of course all the workers, that dont speak english, from Katie's job were there. Sweet. Oh I mean, Ja, Guten Tag.
So that is where we stayed for that night of fun. Eventually we left. Earlier we made Jo walk to town. He hates walking. Complained the whole time. So we left him and eventually stumbled and bumbled home. Jo caught a cab later on in the night. I knew I should have waited. Oh well.
We also
Everyone meet Keith and Raj.
Ya he's blurry, but a good bloke. hung out with my friend Raj and some of his work buddies. Which struck me as odd, since Raj has not worked in months. You gotta admire that. Reminds me of someone.... Hmmmmmm Oh, that's right me. hee hee. He is a solid guy though. I painted most of his house. We hang out from time to time. And tuesday is always a good excuse to hang out. Yaaaa, tuesday. So we hung out and met some cool people. Always nice to meet the natives. Although they do get a bit restless. I would tell you more about that night; but to be honest, I dont really remember all of it. I do know that I got into a fight with Jack Daniels. Jack won. But Im not mad at him. I could never be mad at Jack(bff). We also got some KFC late in the evening before heading home. Well that is all I have to say about that. Just wanted to send out a hello to everyone, let you know what I've been up to and give you the chance to meet everyone else.
Point of interest: Katie informed me she saw Antonio at work a few
Antonio working his magic.
"What happen? Modeling school was too hard?" That's my boy! days later and he asked her if she went out that night. Surprised, she responded by informing him that we were all at Smokey Joe's together. He obviously didn't remember. Whatta champ. At least this time he wasn't clinging onto any 50 year old amazon women. REALLY wish I had a picture of that to show you all. Unfortunately for me, the image is burned into my memory. 'Spanish Backpack'. Order yours now to avoid the Christmas rush. They are all the rage in England.
And I should also mention that this is the longest I have ever been away from home. Over 2 months now and counting. I know its not that long, but this is a personal milestone for me. Like I told Serg, I never thought I would have gotten this chance. Or should I say taken this chance. Just figured I'd have grown up, got a job, got married and stayed in Pico. And Im sure I would have been fine with that. But now that I've seen some of the world. Stepped outside my country and myself. Experienced foriegn things and grown in ways I never would have thought possible. How do you turn
your back to that? Strange how you get used to strange things. Home seems so far away sometimes. But I am content with my own company and my little piece of the world strapped to my back.
Well, tickets have been bought; hostel beds booked; local friends emailed and some minimal planning done. I will be heading off to Spain next week and Im sure to get myself into the strangest of perdicaments. It's my only talent really. So dont stray too far from your computers, as I look forward to your comments as much as writing the blogs. They are a little slice of my strange experiences as I move along lifes path. Funny thing; life. Funnier thing; stats. My statisticians have been hard at work compiling calculations to complement my cleverly contrived corniness. Whhhew. Say that three times fast.
