Ecuador here we come

Just 4 weeks to go until our long anticipated holiday in Ecuador and the Galapagos. Eric and I are meeting up with Bill and Jude, who we met 2 years ago on our Peru trip, for what we expect to be another fantastic holiday.
We leave on my birthday (July 25th) to fly to Quito via Amsterdam - so no doubt the evening will be spent downing a glass or two at Schipol to anaesthetize ourselves for the long overnight flight ahead.

The plan in Ecuador is to spend a few days in and around Quito, with an overnight trip to the cloudforest to see lots of birds and wildlife, followed by an 8 day Galapagos cruise, then back to the mainland for the journey down the spectacular Avenue of the Volcanoes, ending up in Cuenco, in the South, before returning to Quito - a 3 week trip in all.
