Chapel wooden bridge in Lucerne
Nice. What's the deal with the flowers? They're everywhere. Geo: 47.0457, 8.30824
Today we slept in a bit, had our free breakfast at the hotel (most hotels in Europe offer it) and took the city bus to Hergiswil to the glass factory. One of the original glass manufacturers in Europe, we watched them make things out of glass the old fashioned way. Mom tried glass blowing herself and she's carrying around the glass globe she made. She wants to get it home.
We took the bus back into town. The train would have done this in 10 minutes but the track was out of order this week. Then we walked around the old town. The pastries here are fantastic! My favorite, strudel of all kinds, and it is everywhere. We walked across the Chapel Bridge, an old wooden bridge spanning the end of Lake Lucerne.
We returned to the hotel in the early evening and Mom insisted that we eat at the hotel restaurant again since she wanted the lasagna that I had the night before. We walked around town a bit before returning, packing and preparing to leave tomorrow on 8am train for Fussen, Germany.
Sorry about pictures but they take a long time to download and post and we're running behind.
