After spending the day at the beach in barcelona, it was time to get our greatly anticipated train journey to geneva, switzerland. What should have been a 2 hour journey from barcelona to cerbere, became a 3.5 hour journey and we were just in time for the main train. Getting onboard, we were told it was not necessary to book a seat as we could do it on the train, this was the beginning of a travel nightmare. The first hour was quiet and comfortable until the carriage was swarmed with a french orphanage, consequently we lost our seats. 8 hours sat outside a train toilet, on the damp floor was one of the highlights of my life.
