Best journey of my life

After spending the day at the beach in barcelona, it was time to get our greatly anticipated train journey to geneva, switzerland. What should have been a 2 hour journey from barcelona to cerbere, became a 3.5 hour journey and we were just in time for the main train. Getting onboard, we were told it was not necessary to book a seat as we could do it on the train, this was the beginning of a travel nightmare. The first hour was quiet and comfortable until the carriage was swarmed with a french orphanage, consequently we lost our seats. 8 hours sat outside a train toilet, on the damp floor was one of the highlights of my life. Although this was a non smoking train, people felt that this section by the door was the smoking area and it was really nice to be woken up by ash in your face throughout the night.
Regardless, we finally arrived in geneva at 2pm and went to get a mcdonalds as we hadnt eaten in 24 hours. It was a treat to discover a medium meal and wedges cost me 18 francs (15 gbp). My camera then deleted every photo i had taken so all in all, a pretty amazing day
