It's the weekend and time for a roadtrip with Bryan and Cheryl! We chose the French area of Switzerland, specifically Montreux at the East end of Lac Lemac (Geneva sits at the West end of the lake). Along the way we stopped in Fribourg for some lunch. After searching for quite a while for the best place to eat, we settled on a pizza/pasta restaurant. Afterwards, we spotted a nice little bakery for dessert with lovely pastries and hot chocolate, bien sur! We love that in Europe you can take your dog anywhere. We were tickled to meet a little dog at the table next door with the oh-so-perfect name of Chanel! We decided to check out the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, first built in 1283, after lunch. Hello! I am currently situated in the town of Interlaken Switzerland. I have been here for a few days now and unfortunately brought the rain with me, but it doesn´t matter because this hostel is awesome. I am probably one of the few Canadians here amongst a midst of "fill in the blank" State" t-shirt wearing Americans, needless to say I get many "Little America" comments, but we all know Vancouver beats Michigan· Dakota· Texas anyday. This place is the extreme sport capital of the world, but due to Bad weather many of the activities have been cancelled. I wasn´t happy to wake up at 7 this morning to find out my canyoning trip had been cancelled, so I went Parasailing instead (only because Sky diving was way out of the budget, and besides, what else ... read more

Well we are leaving die swiiz tomorrow and i must say i dont know why. This is the most beautiful place I have ev er seen. We climbed a mountain today, it took it 3 hours and was super tiring but well worth it for the view from the top, i took several pictures so i can show you guys some when i get back. We also spent a few days in Bern, the capital city, which is cute and quaint, not what you would expect from a capital but really nice, we rented bikes for free and rode around most of the day. Okay, so yes I know that that title is rather cheesy, but for those of you that know me that should come as no surprise. That is honestly the question I have been asking myself for the past few days. It all started when Blair, Alyssa and I arrived in Hallstatt, Austria--a small town of 960 people on the Hallstatt Lake in the middle of the Dachstein Mountains in the Salzkammergut National Forest. We arrived at our hostel which has a lawn that sits right on the Hallstatt Lake looking straight out to snow peaked mountains and fairy tale forests. Hallstatt has earned the status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a result of the strong presence of Austrian Culture and the pristine natural environment it is in. Voilà.... plus que 23 jours avant mon départ vers l'inconnu. J'ai rendu mon appart après un déménagement de m... et me voilà de retour chez maman pour quelques jours. Ensuite départ le 1er février pour Rio de Janeiro et le carnaval en fin de mois!Me reste plus qu'à apprendre deux trois pas de samba histoire de pas avoir trop l'air ridicule... heureusement je compte sur la caipirinha pour m'aider à progresser! Je commencerai sur Ipanema beach dans une auberge de jeunesse jusqu'au 18 février et ensuite sur Copacabana beach dans un appart avec des Australiens de Sydney jusqu'au 1er mars. J'ai trouvé une annonce de leur part sur internet comme quoi il cherchait un colloc' et ça m'a paru intéressant. Renting the Smart

Ok so we were going to rent a smart car and drive to Zurich, but we over slept so that plan fell though. we still really wanted to rent the Smart so we walked down and did it any way with no real plan. we ended up going to the a town about 30 mins away and looking at some castles there. then we drove home and went to the top of Mt. Bre to check out the view. I know its not the greatest Birthday story but itturned out to be a pretty fun day.
