St Gallen We arrived at St Gallen and jumped on bus number 3, we stayed on the bus for 6 stops and then Aunty Alice was there at the bus stop waiting for us. We walked back to her place, which was literally 2 minutes. Thank god she had a lift to the fourth floor as my legs were still killing me from the walk down the hill in Locarno with flip flops on. We put our stuff away, had a quick chat and then had a traditionally Swiss meal called Raclett. This involves heating up cheese on little trays and then drizzled it over our vegetables. We sat up and waited for Oliver ( Alice’s son ) to come home from work, had a quick chat then went to bed. The next day Alice & ... read more

Finally, I made it to a computer. We've just arrived this evening in Gies, Switzerland where we are spending 1 night at Noah's family friend Beatris' house. We spent 10 hours traveling by train from Amsterdam. Our time in Amsterdam was fun and exciting, but also very busy and the streets and canals were disorienting. There are bicyclists, cars, buses, trams, and people EVERYWHERE making it very difficult to maneuver the streets. Don't get me wrong, Amsterdam was very beautiful and had some really amazing and interesting architecture and canals, but I felt a bit stressed and overwhelmed while I was there. Also, it seemed a bit more touristy than Brussels and Antwerp. We had a chance to go to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and it was pretty sweet. I'm a big fan of Dutch paintings, ... read more

Busy, busy, busy...no time to make another entry on my blog! Far too much sinshine to get out there and enjoy :)) Today is Monday 26 May and time is running out fast. Late on Friday (23 May) Maia flew in from Scotland. Arrived back at hotel after 11pm and then talked, talked and talked. Only had a few hours sleep that night! Up and off to Lucerne the next day (Sat 24 May), Maia pretty impressed with the trains and first class travel! Accommodation in Lucerne very, how shall I say, interesting. Explored Lucerne for the rest of the day. Maia found out first-hand how difficult it is to find somewhere suitable for non-smokers to have dinner...walked and walked until finally our stomachs rebelled at any more walking and we sat outside and had dinner...got ... read more

Autumn has just flown by. A little over a month ago I was wandering round a tiny mountain village "perspiring" in a t-shirt and shorts. However, a week later things really started to cool off. Anja and I went up to her family's mountain place in Breil for the weekend. Kidding (as you do), while walking through the five or six streets that made up the village, the cool (but not cold) mountain air suggested there was no way we were going to be snowed in for the weekend. It looked a whole lot more likely when we woke up and the green fields had turned snow white overnight! Mountainbiking was out of the question, but the daily business of visiting the village bakery, butcher, grocer, and a real dairy for fresh 'squeezed' cream to make ... read more

Helly my dears! Our flight was late like the flight when we went to England but it was nicer, because it was dark and so you could see the lights of the Cities and it was really gorgeous. At midnight I was in St.Gallen and 10mins later I was at home! Now...on monday I've to go to school so no holidays:'( But this is the end of my travelblog and I hope I gave you some impressions of my 6 weeks! Take care! Bye... read more
