Trosa (Panties)
We left Julia's Island to begin the "Great Adventure". We are on our own now. We have couch surfed our way from Southern Sweden as far as we can. Thank you to everyone for your hospitality. We will miss all of you.

We stayed in a little town called Trosa (translated means Panties). We followed the map to the water and were happy with the results. We camped overnight in the little Marina and rode our bikes around town. It was the perfect stop. We will drive into the big city of Stockholm tomorrow.

The next day we found a campground right outside of Stockholm Central (Thanks to the advise of Ricki). It was very close to the Metro Train so we could ride it into town. I was glad not to have to worry about city driving.

We stayed two nights in the campground and walked around Stockholm as much as my legs could handle. We had a really good time. Stockholm is the most beautiful big city I have ever been to. I would love to go back again some day. I would love to show Jaz and my mother this part of the world. I

really like Sweden.

We walked around old town and had Thai food. We went to the Royal Swedish Castle and other historical buildings. The guards still stand in the little shacks and change every so many hours. The whole city is surrounded by water and there are huge cruise ships and ferries everywhere. Lots of floating restaurants and boat tours.

We had a Martini in the Absolute Ice Bar of Stockholm. You are provided with huge coats and gloves to go into a refrigerated room that is surrounded by ice. Even the glasses they serve the drinks in are ice. Very popular tourist stop. We then decided to have another drink and had beers on the street in a little bar nicknamed "Little Africa" because of all the nationalities that frequent it. The Manager was a very serious guy from Turkey. He needed to keep an eye on things. Even the taxi driver that stopped for a beer was Sudan (he looked like mafia in a suit and pony tail). We had a couple beers with a guy from Egypt and a guy from Algeria (and all their friends of course). It was great fun and a very

cultural experience. We then caught the Metro back to camp laughing about our new friends.

Our camp ground was deluxe with all the amenities including a sauna. We got the laundry done, Betty cleaned up, ourselves cleaned up and ready for our ferry ride to the next stop on an island called Aland on our way to Finland.

Missing all of you - stay cool (I have been keeping up on the weather and it sounds like it is really hot - send some our way)
Love,
Kendra and Jan
