Today, we set off on another mammoth journey overland to Stockholm. 6 hours of drinking, sleeping and black jacking oh and many cheese crisp butties we arrived. We found our hostel very easily (City Hostel (we think) 50 Euros for 4 bed dorm). FYI, this hostel is well nice, so clean and we highly recommend it. So after a quick shower we ventured out to get our bearings and of course some food, with a map Keaney ripped in half two minutes after buying it up! Typically the bit where it ripped was the bit we needed!!!!
Keaney also felt more like the local in the taxi ride back as he was directing the taxi man back to our place, the taxi dude didn't have a clue where we were staying, and mind you it didn't help us not having the address!!!
The next day was an early rise and a mission to try to get tickets for the same day ferry to Tallin, we came to the conclusion that this was not going to happen, my ticket number being something like 150!!!! So we made new plans which involved one whole day and one more night in Stockholm
before we headed our own separate ways. So with a new spring in our step we headed out to see the sights Stockholm had to offer.
We firstly headed to the Gamla Stan which is the oldest part of Stockholm, its lovely but rammed with tourists. We checked out the Kungliga Slotlnet (Royal Palace), the Storkyrkan (Royal Cathedral) and after a delicious bite of eat we headed to the Nobelmusseet (Nobel Prize Museum) where T one day hopes to see his face hanging up there. Apparently, you are not allowed to vote for yourself but every year people write in to say why they deserve the prize, this is consequently thrown away!!! Apparently Hitler was nominated once!!!
Once we had read all we could about the Nobel Price and its winners we headed to Dyurgarden by ferry. This is the greenest part of Stockholm with a massive theme park, again too expensive like the one in Copenhagen so G and Keaney walked past with their tails between their legs. We had a wonder around and headed to a well nice outdoor bar with sofas etc. Soon realising why is was soooo nice (was rather expensive) and also realising
how out of place we looked: none of us had blonde hair, nor were any of us wearing 4 inch heels, nor were we donning the latest gigantic designer handbag, and only Leila had the perfect tan. So after our one and only drink there we headed back to our gaff to get changed and head out for the evening.
The evening consisted of good food and far too many watermelons Bacardi breezers because G was hammered, on the way home at about 2am she would not stop going on about how light the sky was. She says sorry again to those who heard it about 100 times!!!! But guys seriously the sky was SOOOOO light!!!!
The next day we parted out separate ways, sadly saying bye to keaney and Leila. G wasn't feeling too good after the night before so we went to a coffee shop where she went to sleep and T made good use of the free refills. We then ventured out for a stroll and some fresh air which back fired on G as she then throw up a few times. Luckily we had a few hours before boarding the ferry to Helsinki, judging
by the look on G's face she wasn't looking forward to this ferry ride.
