Hello Everyone
We left Östersund and boarded the Inlandsbanan train,the staff on the train we’re so friendly and we all had a lot 9f fun,our main aim was to spot Reindeers,moose or Elk,it was a full time job doing this, it I spotted about 7 reindeers.
We stopped at a place called Vilhelmina Nora for lunch and the sandwiches were amazing ,I had salmon,and the salmon is something to die for!!!.
Climbed back on train being well fed,it was getting much colder as we travelled North,and everyone was putting on more layers.
Kevin spent a lot of the time with the driver of the train,He was having a ball!!.
Transferred from train to a coach and travelled to a Sami Village,a forest encampment to hear about Sami culture,went into a Sami dwelling and all sat around having tea which was cooked on a fire in the middle of the room and ate smoked reindeer meat and smoked fish.the Sami people are the indigenous people of Northern Europe dating back to the end of the last ice age,we had a great time and saw some reindeers with their young.
Last stop was our hotel
at Silverhatten on the top of a hill with beautiful views,in the winter it is a ski field.
I think today was my best day,each day gets more interesting.
