Balcony
A balcony can be in prime condition when the rest of the house is not Balconies en masse
We might as well beging by admitting that we cheat a little bit this time. Some of the text, which isn't much in the first place, we have simply copied from a couple of blogs we wrote a few years ago. But we spend so much time writing all the other blog entries that we think that once in a while we can allow ourselves to put together one entry where we don't have to write quite as much as we normally do.
Also, when we started this blog in 2006 the main purpose was to make it possible for us to upload photos and make them available to our friends and relatives. It was publishing the photos that was the main purpose, not actually writing the text which accompanies the pictures. We find the collection of photos of the many balconies in Saint-Louis to be interesting enough to warrant a blog entry of their own. So now, staying true to the original purpose of this blog, we have published photos and made them available to you.
When we were in Saint-Louis we walked through the streets of the
Balcony
A balcony can be very green old town and we were surprised over how many different styles of balconies they had there. We felt that the balconies was what defined Saint-Louis old town. So these photos is also our way of telling you what we saw when we walked around in town. Because what we saw was buildings and their balconies. When we started taking photos of the balconies we for natural reasons started to look more closely at them. It turned out that the more we looked the more interesting they became. After a few hours we had quite a collection of photos. We have picked out the 26 best ones and we hope you also find them interesting.
As we indicated above this is not the first time we write a blog entry with balconies. Some years ago we published one blog entry with photos of
balconies in Kotor in Montenegro and a year later we published another blog entry with photos of
balconies in Tbilisi in Georgia. A piece of advice, if you found this blog entry boring don't click on the links in the previous sentence. There is nothing other than more photos of balconies to be found there.
It
Balcony
A balcony can have three doors leading to it is not only balconies that we can find fascinating. A year before the Kotor blog entry was published Ake visited Oman. He then spent an hour or so taking photos of the
doors in Sur in Oman and he also wrote a blog entry about them. One day in the future we will probably write a blog entry about the doors in Stockholm because there are many interesting doors in our hometown. It is funny that we didn't notice that ourselves. It was an American friend who visited us who pointed out that there are many nice looking doors here. However, we don't think we will ever publish any photo of our own door because it is boring as hell...
