View from The Abbey
Village near the Sacromonte Abbey. Beware the one way bus route! Exploring the streets and laneways around Albaicin, Sacromonte and Granada you can easily get lost. They are fascinating as around every corner you find Arab and Spanish influences combining. We have found the local bus service an absolute delight. They take us up hills and we walk down. We are still averaging about 8-10 km a day.
Palacio de los Cordova is a 17th C house that was been rebuilt in the early 1900's to old plans. It is now the municipal archive
The Granada Cathedral is over-the-counter in decoration. Every painting and statue has a meaning and a reason for being in that spot. It is extremely richly decorated and is huge.
The Abadia del Sacromonte on the other hand is small and in great need of repair. It is on a hill overlooking both Granada and the Alhambra, so the view is wonderful.
It seems like every street corner there is a church or chapel. You could spend a lot of time exploring just these.
