We stopped off in Barcelona before we moved onto the French Pyrenees a few years back. Barcelona is one of my favourite get always because to me this city has everything you could want. Good food fantastic atmosphere cheap hotels and in the summer amazing weather. When we went we stayed in a hotel with a rooftop pool. It looked over the city and there is nothing nicer than an early morning dip whilst seeing and hearing the hustling and bustling city as you're relaxed and cool. The transport links are fantastic and although it's a hard city to navigate, the excess of taxis and the subway make it relatively straightforward. Barcelona comes alive in the nighttime with various street performers outside bars and restaurants which cater for all needs. I think Barcelona is the perfect place for a quiet weekend away from the cold climate of Britain and off peak flights are around £30 return so for that little what are you waiting for?
