Spain national sport!
Olé Torito, there is no trip to Spain without a visit to the famous Plaza del Toro in Madrid! The toradas attract hundreds of locals and tourists alike every Sunday. We were there just at the right time. Although the reports about these shows are very different, we decided to see it and have our own opinion:
El Torero, symbol of masculinity and bravery for the Spanish, in our opinion is a big fag. He dresses in pink tight clothes, puts make up on, and only fights the bull after the poor animal has been stabbed almost to death by the horse riders.
We went to Toledo for a day trip. This medieval town still keeps the same atmosphere from that time. King Arthur would feel at home! Every second shop sells armors and swords. It's really nice to walk in the little allies and admire the architecture or simply sit in a cafe nursing a delicious cappuccino.
Back in Madrid we took a night train to Barcelona, the party capital of Europe.
In Barcelona we stayed in a hostel we consider one of the best in Europe (check The Perfect Hostel
). During our stay there was a guy taking pictures
Claudio before seen what they do with the bull!
of everything. Even of Claudio shaving in the bathroom. At first we thought he liked the hostel too, but when we returned there four months later, we found Claudio's picture printed on the hostel's new folder.
In the last day in Barcelona we went to the beach. As we arrived there we needed to change into our Speedos, very common in Brazil. But only there.
Searching for a place to change, we walked along the beach without realizing everybody sunbathing naked on this part of the beach. Why look for a private place if everybody is naked anyway...
