We headed out for Alicante this morning to visit the Santa Barbara Castle. The trek was only 26 miles and scheduled to take 1 hour according to Google maps. Travel through Europe sometimes involves a lot of minor highways with a lot of roundabouts! This was the case on the N-332 today.

The Santa Barbara Castle is a 9th century castle and built during the time of Muslim control of the Iberian Peninsula ( from 711 till 1296). Most of the historical data within the castle was all in Spanish (made it a little difficult for understanding). :-) The views were great and it was a nice hike up and down the mountain.

Enjoy!
