Edit Blog Post
Madrid has become a favorite of my and Robyn's. I first came here on a school trip to Spain with a teacher who I consider a close friend. Later, I brought Robyn here, and it was on Cava Baja street that got engaged (in Spanish!). We love the culture, the art and especially the food. It's easy to eat good here for cheap, and it's easy to have a good time. The city is so safe and walkable, we wanted to spend a month here, so we did.
I'm only going to do once blog post for the month we were here, with maybe an additional post for the side trips we did to Toledo and Segovia (via El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen).
We did a lot of relaxing, half the fun is living like a local an not feeling like you have to jam-pack your days. But we also got to see some amazing cultural things off the beaten path that we haven't had time for on previous trips.
Including...
A bullfight
A museum for the blind where everything is touchable
Retiro Park for row boat
Watching soccer
games in bars
Golf Driving Range in the middle of the city
El Rastro (the flea market)
Serrano Street - Fancy shopping district
Rooftop Bar near the bank of EspaƱa
As well as classics like...
The Royal Palace
The Prado
The Reina Sophia
