Great title eh? We arrived in Madrid expecting a parade and received the metro..... It was a chore trying to find our lodgings because everything did not make sense. The signs indicated something different from the maps we had until we found out that there is an above ground Metro and a below ground train, both converging together so we had no way of knowing which was which because Espagne isn,t English friendly everywhere. Once we analized, googled, and asked we were okay.,

Well, it took an hour or so and a cappo or two b/4 we found our lodgings but as usual the brilliant wife planted us directly into the center of where we needed to be. That being said, we toured the area and concluded minus the bull fights that Madrid is somewhat like Valencia. mideivil etc... with lotsa historical buildings and such. ENOUGH ALREADY WITH THE OLD BUIILDINGS.

So, we left the city and went to Toledo......

Toledo is 60 kms away from Madrid and is on top of a mountain. Train was 1\2 hour each way. We spent the day enjoying this little day trip. The issue in Espagne turns out to be all the streets that run one way and in circles and are spelt wrong. They are not in English. When ever we got lost there was a cafe where we got a cappo and asked directions. The wine kicks in later in the day and the Spanish language gets blurrred.... In the evening of course we cannot sleep because of the cappo and being lost, so I stay up and read and the cycle continues... Next day we were off to Lisbon portugal. wait ... wern,t we just in Spain? Did I mention how cheap the wine is?
1 to 3 Euros a litre. See you in Lisbon.
