Madrid Lane
Here is a typical lane in Madrid. We did little but walk down these streets and look around. We arrived in Madrid not having a place to stay for the night, but we easily found a hostel and slept soundly with eight other French guests. We spent a good amount of time lounging about lazily in the many wonderful street cafes that make Madrid, and I would guess many other European cities, so great.
We ate and drank and spent way too much money, but had a great time doing it. We did manage to get out and see a museum full of Picassos as well as a nice free tour of the city. We also watched a few movies and met many new friends.
Our first night there we met a nice group of Polish travelers who were in town for a basketball game. We drank good beer and ate croquettas with them until dark, then spent the rest of the night at our lovely hostel. We also met a great group of Australians with whom we, once again, spent too much money. They were great people and helped make our time there what it was.
Our time in Spain was short, much like this blog entry. In fact, we never even left Madrid. I
Pigeon on a Statue
Pigeons like statues. They also like driving buses. think one day we will definitely have to go back and see the rest of the place.
