After our mind-numbing 14 hour flight from Singapore to Zurich, we were held up on the tarmac for ½ hour having boarded what was supposed to be a quick flight to Barcelona. Decided on the taxi option rather than public transport to our destination after our experience in Singapore. Another city with an excellent road system meant that this was a good choice. We got stuck in the lift temporarily with all our bags but were rescued by Alex’s sister Laia who greeted us warmly and had plenty of local advice and information to assist us during the next few days. The apartment is very spacious and in an excellent location within walking distance of the Sagrada Familia. After a short sleep we ventured out for a beer and tapas and some food shopping. We’ll go for a stroll around the local area tonight.
