Back again! Back on the free internet, and there is no queue this time. So I only got up to just before the plane. We went to Portabello Road, then back to Alexs to pick up our stuff, then off to the airport via the Stanstead Express (to the Stanstead Airport). Arrived to a crazy airport, checked in with EasyJet (they had the cheapest flights), and they have this stupid new rule that you can only have a certain size hand luggage bag, and it literally has to fit into the lap top size size guide, or you have to check it. The lady told us all of ours were fine, but once we reached security, Chez had to turn around and check her backpack. Very annoying. Security was crazy. The line was a mile long, ... read more

We have had another two wonderful days in Barcelona. Yesterday we did the rest of the sights in the city. We started off the day by visiting the church Santa Maria del Mar, right near our hotel. Then we headed to the Picasso museum. Picasso helped found the museum in the 1970´s and donated much of the art work located there. Afterwards we hopped back on the tourist bus and headed to Park Guell. The park was originally commissioned by Gaudi´s patron Eusebi Guell to be a garden suburb community of Barcelona, but it never took off. Gaudi turned it instead into a garden paradise where you are greeted by two gingerbread houses upon entering. The whole place seemed like a scene from Alice in Wonderland. After a great lunch, I accidentally took my Mom through ... read more

When we woke up this morning we were both pretty excited from the very beginning because when we looked outside we actually saw the sun and blue skies. Emily was able to leave the house in a t-shirt and jeans and I think it was the first time I haven't worn my snowboots this entire trip! If I were to classify the type of city Barcelona was I would say it was more artistic than anything else. We spent most of our touring time in Barcelona looking at various architectural feats... buildings, houses, and cathedrals. The city is really beautiful and the weather made it all the more better to look at. Barcelona itself is a very interesting city. Aside from the really cool buildings and views that you can find throughout, there are some pretty ... read more

Well now that I have a stunning set of permanent sunglasses attached to my face there will be no pics of me for awhile! After my wonderful time of the beach, shopping in the markets off Las Ramblas and generally watching the world pass me by in Barcelona I decided that a day on a mountain with monks was in order...so Montserrat here I come. Well in the middle of NO where there is a magical mountain that houses the art work of the likes of Monet, Picasso and Renoir to name but a few. It also has the most amazing cathedral with the shire to the Black Virgin and a very friendly kitty cat. For those of you who know how much of a bad mother I am for having left my little Mickey with ... read more
