Views to Granada from the top of the campsite. We ventured there up a steep road in blistering heat!
We spent our last two days relaxing at the caravan in the shade, except for a trip to the beach for a swim to cool off. On tuesday the waves were slightly less fierce than monday so in we went. Suddenly I was knocked backwards and submerged...much to Graham's delight. I"d been wondering whether to wash my hair, so that decided it! 😁 Wednesday, our last day at Manilva beach and we found there were only two other couples there...set up our chairs walked towards the sea and saw scum and lots of rubbish floating in it....so we'd had our last swim in the med ...on tuesday.
Thursday, off to Granada, not looking forward to the high temperatures. Arrived about 12.30 and the owner told us, in broken frenglish we needed hats and long sleeves as "le soleil terrible" They had never known it be so hot in June. Well, I'm afraid I didn't cope very well and developed a pounding headache and felt as if I had heatstroke....cool flannels and 2 1/2 litres of water later, still went to bed with temperature down from 38-30, but over 30 in the caravan. We decided another day, with the temperature reaching 40+ was just too much so decided to get as far north as possible in a day, looking for cooler air. 370 miles later we reach Tordesillas and the temperature is.....35 degrees, but there's a breeze and the sun doesn't feel nearly as fierce. Looking forwatd to walking into the village tomorrow and Graham having a rest from driving.
