Otoño 2006

Esta salida de fin de semana en el Parque Regional de los Picos de Europa (es decir, la zona de Riaño) ha sido una de las mejores que he hecho con montañeros.
El primer día empezamos la ruta en el pueblo de Casasuertes-subimos al monte más alto de la sierra Cebolleda: el pico Gildar, de 2078 metros de altura. Desde el Gildar bajamos al puerto de Panderruedas, que comunica el valle de Sajambre con el valle de Valdeón. Las vistas son de los más espectaculares, pues se ven a la perfección ambos valles y el macizo occidental y central de los Picos de Europa. Había mar de nubes, cosa que hizo que las vistas fueran más mágicas todavía. El color de los bosques, ahora que estábamos en pleno otoño, era de lo más bonito.

Nos hospedamos en un albergue en Posada de Valdeón, justo a los pies de los picos de Europa. Nos dieron a cenar alubias y carne. Comí tanto que tuve sueños pesados.

El segundo día hicimos otra ruta partiendo también de Casasuertes, y tras pasar la mañana felizmente pasando entre bosques, subiendo collados y cogiendo setas llegamos a primera hora de la tarde a Portilla de la Reina.




Fall 2006

This weekend with the mountain club was one of the best I´ve done with them, in the Regional Park of Picos de Europa, that is, the Riaño area.
Both days, saturday and sunday, we started our walk in the little village of Casasuertes. First day we went up to the highest peak in Cebolleda range, the Gildar, of 2.078 meters (=6.818 feet) high. From the Gildar we went down to the Panderruedas pass, that links the valley of Sajambre with the valley of Valdeon. The views are spectacular for you have in sight both valleys, the central and the west massifs of Picos de Europa. There was a sea of clouds covering the valleys making the views more magical, only emerging the most prominent mountains. The colour of the leaves tree, now in the middle of the fall, were unbeatable.

We stayed at a hostel in the village of Posada de Valdeón, right at the feet of the Picos de Europa. We had beans and meat for dinner. I ate so much that I had heavy dreams.

Next day, after spending the whole of morning passing through coloured forests, going uphill and downhill, and picking up mushrooms, we arrived in the village of Portilla de la Reina in the afternoon.
