September 13,Sunday.
We started off the day from VillaFranca de Montes de Oca at 6:30 am. We spent the evening on bunk beds, only 9 of us in the room and blessed there were only minor snoring through the evening. The day was a very cold walk. This is the first time I didn't get to short sleeves in the first hour or two. Sunrise is after 7:30 so walking in the dark up hill through a rocky river bed in the forest was a challenge. The good news is there were several others on the trail. You probably ask why at 6:30. Well when the fellow bunkers start rousing at 5 it doesn't let you sleep. One may as well join them. Once we were closer to the summit the sun was giving us some light. The path was rocky rough and one had to be very careful or you could seriously hurt oneself. Hind sight, it provided a variety of scenery to enjoy. We usually stop on the first 5-7 km for a coffe con leeche but the first stop this day was 12+ km. a long wait for the first coffee.
The rest of the day was a nice walk in the park to Cardenuela Riopico. Our accommodations were great as we had a room with a view and didn't need to share. A great evening with our friends from the last few days and a communal dinner
