Once again we have returned to the Canary Islands. Of the seven islands, we still had two left to visit: La Palma and El Hierro. A return visit to Tenerife was also thrown in for good measure. We visited the Ecomuseo de Guinea where they have a breeding program for the giant Canary lizard. This species was almost hunted to extinction.

The lizards were 12 to 18 inches long and are only found on El Hierro.

One of the oldest settlements on El Hierro. It dates back to the early 15th century.

We saw hedges of big jade plants on La Palma. I guess they really like the climate.

With only 4 rooms, Guiness has classified this as the world´s smallest hotel.

The little village has been left in its original condition and dates back to the early 1900s.
