Tam mozna przypomniec so... read more

Sklada sie glownie z papryki - zielonej albo czerwonej, czosnku, oliwy i szafranu. Moze byc tez jedzony na ... read more

Betonowa pustynia. Nie ... read more

Four days on Canary Islands, more specifically on one island, Tenerife, was enough for a short vacation. It's not that I didn't like Tenerife, but rather found it different from what I expected. This is a volcanic island, and seeing beaches with black sand was interesting, until you walk into the water and it looks like you're walking in muddy water. There are beaches with golden yellow sand, but this sand was brought here from Africa, which is less than 300km away. The volcano is in the middle of the island, and the towns and vegetation on the north are much more beautiful than the south, since it rains a lot. However, if you want to enjoy the sunny warm waters, then you need to go south, which we did. Unfortunately, the south is turned into ... read more

The Spanish word 'Belen ' translates to 'Nativity Scene' when looked up in a dictionary. 'Belens' are a Christmas tradition all over the Canary Islands and Spain, most towns will have a 'Belen' on view to the general public, you will find them in a lot of villages as well, where they are very pleased that you have taken the time to have a look at their 'Belen' and will be eager to explain all to you if asked. There are many forms of 'Belenes', one of the most famous ones on Tenerife is in the village of San Matias, situated close to the mountains of Taco ( pictured above), the site is permanent, dedicated to the 'Belen', work begins early on in the year to renovate and prepare for the December opening, all the work ... read more

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all our American readers! We are back home after our travel in Israel with a stop in the island of Tenerife , located in the Canary Isalnds off the west coast of Africa. Since our return to the U.S., we even squeezed in a trip to NC for the Thanksgiving holiday. In lieu of the usual play-by-play account, let's call this our Tenerife Top Five: 1. Summit to the top of Mt. Teide . With a permit in hand, we were one of the 150 lucky folks that day to climb up 12,188 ft and reach the highest point in Spain. The last volcanic eruption of this moutain was 100 years ago but it's technically considered "dormant active." I'm glad it didn't erupt on the day we visited! 2. Punta de Teno. ... read more

I wanted to wait a bit to write the next one since I thought putting one after the other (Scotland, then Tenerife/Vegas) would be too much to read but of course, that ended up being ridiculous since now its a month later and I finally have one morning to write!!! We had one week of chaos between Scotland and Tenerife. We left for Tenerife, desperate for a vacation and ensured that our three days there were beautiful and relaxed. Our original plan was to be there for 7 days of pure beach bliss but in Scotland we got an email from Sparkfun, an American electronics company (Sparkfun.com) that we have often ordered parts from for our fun projects. They wanted to feature our project, the critical corset, in VEGAS! But we had to do it, like, ... read more
