Ferry Armas ,Volcan De Teide.

Good morning from somewhere out on the Atlantic ocean.

It is Friday the 07 June and is 08.30 in the morning. I have been up for about an hour and a half and have had breakfast and am currently sitting at the stern of the boat watching the wake stretching out behind us. It was a grey start but now the sun is just about to come out and it should be a very pleasant day.

To regress a bit………Yesterday morning was a 5 am start and after good breakfast in the hotel I headed down to the harbor to take my place in the queue waiting to board. It was still dark but as we waited the sky lightened up and as we were boarding the night had turned to day…a grey sort of day.

Just as I remembered from last year the bikes were separate from the cars and the crew tying them down know their job and are friendly. This year I have a carry on bag which fits in the top box and has all clothes and toiletries needed during the journey. Helmet and gloves and jacket remain with the bike. My shoulder bag has the important paperwork and tickets and my laptop and Ereader/Tablet. Don't forget the charging cables.

The first stop was the reception where the Ecard to Access the VIP lounge was collected. This lounge is an oasis of peace and has large reclining seats with power sockets and a coffee machine.A toilet and shower are available for the Vip guests. The carry on bag gets deposited here leaving one free to wander around the ship with only a shoulder bag with the most important things.

Breakfast was being served and even though I had eaten in the hotel I availed myself of a good solid breakfast to set me up for what I knew was going to be a long day.

The day passed by in a mix of sitting in the sun (drinking beer) watching the complete Series ! of the VISITORS on the laptop and dozing off in different chairs around the ship.

I finally retired to my reclining chair/Bed at about 11 and settled down to doze for the night. Earplugs are vital to a good nights sleep as they block out snoring noises and other sounds during the night.

The sun is now well up and all around the ship is coming to life. A few more films another part of my book and in 10 hours we will be there……Huelva.

The general plan is to head for the hotel I have booked for the night and after a few beers and a bite to eat, hit the sack and get out on the road early on Saturday morning.
