Palma de Mallorca 2014
This trip was something different for me, I went on it with just my dad, that wasn't the original plan, he was meant to go with his partner but in the end she couldnt make it and the place was offered to me 😉 and who could say no to that?
We hired a car, so pretty much travelled all the island in the week. Driving on the other side of the road was fine but going around a round-a-bout the wrong way is very strange! haha ~ its like your brain tells you not to do it :p We got used to it after a few days, though I still often opened the wrong door and accidently sat behind the wheel lol oops 😉
We stayed in a lovely hotel in Porto Cristo called THB Felip (they had a great all-you-can-eat buffet in the evenings) and visited Andratx, Magaluf, Manacor, Arta, CanPicafort etc.
Some of the trips highlights were the Porto Cristo caves, the tour had light effects and projected images/stories onto the cave wall with music, it was really well done and on a massive scale! :D there
was a clear lake at the deepest point, they turned off all the lights projected moving images above it that reflected quite cleverly, making them look like they were moving towards you. The whole thing was very nice, though it did feel like it was over too quickly. Certainly worth doing if you can though 😊
Also we stopped at a random small town one day, it was called Arta and we werent expecting to find anything overly interesting there as it was only a little place, but were we wrong! we stumbled upon a hilltop fortress and 19th century chapel, it was a bit of a climb up loads of steps but the view from the top was just stunning 😊 would totally recommend!
We travelled there in April and the average temperature was about 26°C which was just perfect 😊
